Yvona read a poem about the destruction of Warsaw from Good in the Midst of Evil and introduced her mother. Dana Fast spoke about her life in the Warsaw Ghetto (fall 1940 - summer 1942) and then her experiences masquerading as a Catholic girl in the Polish country village of Dabrowa, then in an orphanage run by the Sisters of Charity, and finally living with a distant relative who had Volksdeutch status. Thanks to Hannah Carroll for the pictures. Yvona Fast and Dana Fast , authors of Good in the Midst of Evil After a daring escape from the Warsaw ghetto, 11-year old Lilka is torn away from her family. With a name change and new identity papers, her life becomes a masquerade. She must learn to act the role of a Catholic girl living in the Polish country, a role she's not familiar with or prepared for. Will she succeed?
Dana’s message for many years has been that it has been unfair to deny the heroism of many Poles who risked their own lives as well as the lives of their families. In her memoirs she describes the individuals who helped her find Good in the Midst of Evil. Summer Events – Meet the authors of Good in the Midst of Evil
